Possibly my favorite oil (if I had to choose).

The scent of Ylang Ylang instantly brings me back to the Pacific shores of Costa Rica, where aromatic waves of Ylang Ylang waft over the ocean at sunset. I put it on the bottoms of my feet to help me sleep soundly and it has quite an euphoric effect on my mood.

Every time I feel myself getting sick…

I load up on On Guard to boost my immune system. I put it in my diffuser, on immune points, and ingest a few drops at a time (in water) when I’m feeling under the weather. It also smells amazing. On Guard contains:

Wild Orange Peel
Clove Bud
Cinnamon Leaf
Cinnamon Bark
Eucalyptus Leaf
Rosemary Leaf/Flower

Doterra Oregano Essential Oil

Another crucial household oil for me.

I take Oregano together with On Guard blend when I’m sick or fighting off a bug. I put two drops of each in a few ounces of water and shoot it. (Oregano has some heat to it, be advised!) You may want to wash it down with more than water if you’re sensitive. It’s also a powerful cleansing agent, so I use it to make natural household cleaners too!

Doterra Lemon Essential Oil

I use Lemon for SO many things…

It’s an amazing scent neutralizer. I put a couple drops in my laundry when it’s extra smelly. I use it to make carpet cleaning solutions, for accidents around the house. I put a drop in my seltzer water…or my vodka soda with a drop of ginger. 😉 It also makes for a powerful cleaner and a substitute for furniture polish.

Doterra TerraShield Essential Oil

Natural bug repellant!

TerraShield is a proprietary blend that I put directly on my skin and clothes to act as a bug repellant in times of need. I hate using the chemical stuff, and I am more likely to just let them bite me than put those things my skin! If you can relate, check out this blend. They also sell it in a spray bottle now, which I prefer. TerraShield includes:

Fractionated Coconut Oil
Ylang Ylang Flower
Tamanu Seed
Nootka Wood
Cedarwood Wood
Catnip Plant
Lemon Eucalyptus Leaf
Litsea Fruit
Vanilla Bean Absolute
Arborvitae Wood

Doterra Deep Blue Essential Oil

Deep Blue gets deep into your muscles…

I use most of my Deep Blue on my neck and shoulders to alleviate tension and pain. I also have many students who swear by it for migraine prevention and relieve. Many will put a drop on their temples when they feel a headache coming on.

It also can provide much-needed relief for stressed muscles and joints, whether you’re in marathon-recovery, or just battling the flu. I prefer to purchase it in its lotion form. The blend includes:

Wintergreen
Camphor
Peppermint
Ylang Ylang
Helichrysum
Blue Tansy
Blue Chamomile
Osmanthus

Doterra DigestZen Essential Oil

This one has been a life-saver for me…

As some of you may know, I struggle with Celiac Disease and other food sensitivities, which makes my digestive health quite difficult to manage. This oil helps sooth my upset system when I suffer from indigestion or contamination from my allergens. I put it directly on my skin around my stomach and intestines when I’m experiencing discomfort. Digest Zen contains:

Anise Seed
Peppermint Plant
Ginger Rhizome/Root
Caraway Seed
Coriander Seed
Tarragon Plant
Fennel Seed

Doterra Cedarwood Essential Oil

I’ll be honest…

I mostly just love diffusing this oil in my home. It has a sweet woody smell that makes my home feel cozy, warm, and soft. I just put a few drops in the diffuser and let it waft for hours. But I also hear it’s amazing for your skin.

Where To Buy Them & Why It Matters

If you are thinking about trying essential oils and want some advice on which brands to source your oils from (it matters, big time!), feel free to contact me and I will pass along what I’ve learned. It may save you days of researching and digging through product information and reviews. That being said, my process is to research…extensively, so I spent weeks talking to friends, colleagues, and professionals about their experiences with essential oils, including where they buy them and the results they’ve experienced with their application.

To Make It Easy On You…
